The energy spectrum of a semi‐infinite molecular crystal with a point defect on the surface is studied. It is shown that the criterion of uncoupling and the position of the impurity level depend on the distance of the impurity to a crystal boundary. In the case when a level of a surface exciton exists in the system, the uncoupling of the impurity term from the surface exciton band occurs at any slightest distortion of the molecule term. The data obtained can be used to investigate a number of phenomena such as the phonon spectrum and the electron spectrum in the approximation of tight coupling and in some other cases.
