An investigation of the frequency dependence of dielectric permittivities ϵ 11 and ϵ 33 in single‐domain tetragonal PbTiO 3 crystals enables one to determine all the permittivity tensor components and shows the presence of only the piezoelectric dispersion. Comparing the dielectric measurements with the Raman data, it may be concluded that, in contrast to many other oxygen‐octahedra ferroelectrics, ψ 11 Sand ϵ 33 Sof PbTiO 3 are entirely determined by the resonance mechanisms of electronic and ionic polarizations.
