Near infrared (ħω>|ϵ 0 |) and submillimeter magnetotransmission experiments have been performed on zero‐gap Hg 1‐ k Mn k Te alloys ( k ≦ 2%). The observation of impurity magnetooptical transitions is crucially dependent on the Mn composition. The experimental results obtained in both the photon energy ranges indicate that the acceptor level is located below the upper valence level b V (−1) for Mn content k ≧ 0.8%.
