The self‐consistency of the energy in powers of the nonlocal, energy dependent pseudopotential equation in perturbation series is examined. An appropiate expression for the electron effective mass is derived from the well‐known parameters in band structure. The present results are interpreted in context to the results obtained earlier by different methods.
