The anisotropic exciton–ionized donor complex is studied within the effetive mass approximation. The quantum mechanical formulation of the ground‐state requires a six‐dimensional configuration space, but the problem is reducible from six to three dimensions after separation of the Eulerian angles. It remains only to solve three‐variable wave equations depending on the distances between particles.
