The region of f.c.c. solid solutions of the NdH system is investigated by DTA at temperatures from −140 to 100 °C. A phase transformation is revealed, its temperature depends on composition. On the basis of the shape of the T – C diagram, kinetics of transformation at low temperatures, weak dependence of T c on pressure, and neutron diffraction data the conclusion is made that the phase transformation is induced by ordering of hydrogen in octahedral sites. The relationship between ordering and the metal‐to‐semiconductor transition is discussed.
