Abstract The spin‐wave energies, amplitudes, and resonance line intensities in thin films with an internal impurity layer are analysed. The influence of the ferromagnetic and antiferromagnetic impurity coupling both on bulk and localized states is discussed. It is shown that the impurity coupling can be calculated from the resonance measurements.
