Several quantitative models have been proposed for the electronic structure of the organic charge transfer salt NMP‐TCNQ. They range from the periodic Hubbard model that emphasizes the role of electron correlation in the material, to models that emphasize the role of its intrinsic static disorder. A detailed study is made of the dielectric properties of the material, and it is found that the intrinsic static disorder depends on the electronic density of states at the Fermi level. Then, considering the system as a realization of the one‐dimensional disordered Hubbard model and using available experimental data, the intrinsic disorder and other band parameters are calculated.
