EPR measurements are made for X and Ka bands on Cr + in MgTe single crystals. Growth of these single crystals is described. The spin‐Hamiltonian parameters for Cr + are determined at liquid nitrogen temperature as follows: g = 2.0038 ± 0.0005; | A | = (13.4 ± 0.4) × 10 −4 cm −1 ; | a | = (9.2 ± 0.5) × 10 −4 cm −1 ; | D | = (28.1 ± 0.3) × 10 −4 cm −1 and | a – F | = (11 ± 0.4) X × 10 −4 cm −1 . The dependence of D on temperature is studied. For Cr + , Mn 2+ , and Fe 3+ : phenomenological relationships for the g ‐factor are established for various II–VI compounds with blende or wurtzite structure.
