The luminescence band shape of degenerate “triplet” excitons and nondegenerate “singlet” excitons in AgBr crystals at T ≠ 0 K is considered. The quantum‐mechanical transition probability of “hot” singlet excitons with photon and phonon emission is calculated in second‐order perturbation theory. The behaviour of triplet excitons in an external magnetic field is discussed and the theory agrees well with experiments for AgBr crystal.
