Reflection and absorption of light by InSe single crystals are investigated in the range of wave numbers 500 to 100 cm ‐1 . The measurements are carried out at room temperature in E ⟂ C orientation of the electric vector. The linear chain model is used for calculating the phonon frequencies at k = 0. The phonon energies at the edge of the Brillouin zone (M point) are calculated by means of the force constants model including the atoms of a single layer.
