A theory is given for the spin‐one ferromagnetic system containing all the major interactions. The anisotropy term is evaluated exactly whereas the bilinear and the biquadratic exchange terms are evaluated in RPA. A closed form expression for the critical temperature T c at which the quadrupolar to paramagnetic phase transition occurs, is given. The variation of T c vs. the biquadratic exchange parameter is presented and is compared with the earlier results.
