The temperature and concentration dependences of the spin‐lattice relaxation of Fe 3+ ions in natural andalusite crystals are investigated experimentally within the temperature range 0.1 to 4.2 K and concentration range 0.03% to 0.56% at a frequency of 9.2 GHz. Relaxation mechanisms are determined. At very low temperatures the effects of phonon bottleneck are observed.
