The Cu‐As‐Se and As‐Se‐I ternary systems and the Cu‐As‐Se‐I fourfold system are investigated with Mn 2+ EPR at 3 cm band under 300 and 77 K. The obtained results show that I is the third component which most actively transforms the initial As 2 Se 3 glass structure. The EPR spectra of the Mn 2+ ions for Cu‐As‐Se and As 2 Se 3 glass systems differ greatly from those for Cu‐Ss‐Se‐I and As‐Se‐I systems. Well resolved HFS on the g = 2 EPR line is observed for some samples containing I or CuI; this line is probably due to the unstable MnI 2 compound.
