The A x emission band in NaI crystals containing the TI monomer centre is studied in the temperature range 25 to 295 K using a lifetime technique after pulsed excitation in A, B, C, and D absorption bands. The results show that the decay signal is complex and consists of three different slopes better resolved with A and D excitation than with B and C excitation. It is possible to conclude that at least two radiative levels contribute to the A x emission. The measured behaviour of the intensity of the different components is discussed taking into account also the available data of integrated emission.
