Using a transport theory based on the equivalence of energy loss and Joule's heat the scattering of electrons by a spherical macroscopic potential is studied which serves as a simple model for radiation damage, inhomogeneities, or precipitations. It is shown that screening may strongly effect the resistivity if the potentials are spatially slowly varying. Further the model calculations predict the possibility of geometrical resonances for a degenerate carrier distribution.
