The formation energies of a vacancy and a divacancy and the binding energy of a divacancy in simple metals are formulated up to third‐order terms on the basis of the Lloyd‐Sholl theory. The calculations are performed using the Harrison approach under the condition of constant volume and lattice distortions are neglected.
