The Fourier series representation technique is extended to deal with the study of the electron‐phonon enhancement factor λ on the Fermi surface. The scheme is applied to the case of copper end a detailed map of λ( k ) at any point of the surface is obtained. Finally the results are compared with the predictions of microscopic calculations of λ( k ) and the meaning of discrepancies and agreement are briefly discussed.
