Abstract The matrix elements of electron‐phonon nonpolar interaction in PbSe‐like band structures is given for optical and acoustic phonons in the deformation potential approximation. Nonparabolicity and nonsphericity of conduction and valence bands (two‐band Kane model) are taken into account giving nonvanishing electron‐optical‐phonon nonpolar interaction and changing considerably the standard electron‐acoustic‐phonon matrix element.
