Ferroelastically driven order‐disorder transitions of static domains are proposed to explain anomalous conductivities of molecular salts such as TTF‐TCNQ. If L is the length of a molecular chain, the ferroelastic driving energy is of order L 2 compared to dynamical fluctuation energies of order L log L .
