The temperature dependence of the RbMnCl 3 absorption spectrum is investigated in the region of the C and D group bands. The detailed analysis of the fine structure allows to distinguish two characteristic intervals, 75 and 46 cm −1 , corresponding to the excitation of optical and acoustic modes in the spin‐wave spectrum of RbMnCl 3 . In general the spectrum structure is analogous to that of isostructural CsMnF 3 .
