The spectrum of localized excitations of a magnetic matrix with impurity Jahn‐Teller magnetic ions with a triplet orbital ground state in a cubic crystal field is investigated. The two cases are examined of the spin‐orbit interaction of the impurity to be much less or much greater than the exchange interaction between the impurity and the matrix. The orbital exchange interaction is shown to lead to displacement and splitting of the pure spin excitation frequencies and under certain correlations between the exchange parameters it can change the ground state of the system. The specific features of the orbital degeneracy of the impurities can also occur in the electromagnetic wave absorption spectrum and in the temperature dependence of the thermodynamic characteristics of the impure crystal.
