An analytic expression for the change in density of electronic states in the presence of conduction electron scattering by localized spins is derived. The expression seems to be general enough to be applicable to any scattering by a localized potential. The change in the density of states at the Fermi level with respect to the free electron density of states is also explicitly given for the low temperature region.
