Experimental results of two‐exciton light absorption in α‐O 2 at T = 1 K are presented. On the basis of a theory which was previously developed, the interpretation of the doublet structure of the observed absorption is proposed. The effect of resonance interaction on the formation of the vibronic bimolecular bands and the importance of the excited collective states are discussed.
