From recent accurate data on the static structure factor S ( q ) for liquid Na, quantities as the pair correlation function g ( r ) and the direct correlation function c ( r ) are computed. An attempt is made to extract some informations on the pair potential φ( r ), deduced from the experimental data on S ( q ) by means of Percus‐Yevick and hyperchain approximations. The potential so derived is compared to that one given by the model potential approach.
