By a Green's function formalism, an analysis of the collective excitation spectrum and thermodynamical properties of a two‐sublattice uniaxial spin‐one Heisenberg magnet with biquadratic exchange is proposed. The case of antiferromagnetic and quadrupolar ordering is analysed in detail. The results are compared to those of the molecular field theory.
