On the instability of paramagnetism in the extended Hubbard model

The Hubbard Hamiltonian, including the interatomic exchange terms, is studied in the framework of the alloy analogy. The static paramagnetic susceptibility of the system is calculated and the criterion for instability of paramagnetic state is obtained.
