The effect of exchange and correlation on the density of states and the emission intensity of highly excited Ge is investigated. The self‐energy is calculated using the single‐plasmon pole approximation for the dielectric function. At the equilibrium density r S = 0.58 an enhancement factor of about three and a line narrowing of 5% are found for the emission line shape.
