The elastic interaction between defects of orthorhombic symmetry is considered. Explicit results for the elastic stress tensor are derived for defects with finite extensions assuming a Gaussian distribution of the quasiplastic deformations. Within the framework of the dipole approximation it is shown that 〈110〉‐crowdions form bound pairs at small separation whereas their interaction may be reptilsive or attractive at large separation.
