The magnetostriction constants λ 100 and λ 111 of Cu ferrite single crystals quenched from 820, 900, and 950 °C were measured by a capacitance method in a temperature range from liquid N 2 to room temperatures. For the crystal quenched from 900 °C, the magnetostriction constants λ 100 and λ 111 at room temperature are −87.3 × 10 −6 and 9.8 × 10 −6 , respectively. The absolute value of the constant λ 100 has a maximum (about 200 × 10 6 ) near 155 K, and the maximum value decreases with the increase of the quenching temperature, while the value of the constant λ 111 decreases monotonically with the increase of the temperature.
