From the angular dependences of EPR‐spectra of the 2 S 1/2 ‐state system Pb 2+ in CaWO 4 an anisotropic hyperfine interaction with the 207 Pb nucleus is inferred. The weak anisotropy (≈1 0 / 00 ) of the hyperfine A ‐tensor is caused by the admixture of covalent ligand orbitals to the central s‐function in D 2d symmetry.
