Inelastic neutron scattering measurements have been performed on polycrystalline samples of the cerium hydrides CeH 1.98 and CeH 2.72 at 70 °C in order to study their lattice dynamics. For the data analysis the spectrometer resolution has been carefully taken into account. A qualitative interpretation of the results clearly shows the importance of hydrogen‐hydrogen interactions. A diffusive motion of hydrogen could not be observed for both samples.
