The Sharma and Joshi model has been modified by substituting an exact expression for Bardeen's G‐function in the electron‐ion interaction term and to include angular forces, in addition to usual central forces, proposed by Clark, Gazis, and Wallis, up to the second neighbours. The modified model has been applied to study the phonon dispersion relations in copper and silver. The results obtained show an excellent agreement with experimental data.
