The Compton profiles of vanadium and vanadium hydride have been measured. The two profiles are in agreement for values of the electron moment, um greater than 1.5 at. units, indicating that the vanadium core electron momentum distribution is unchanged by addition of the hydrogen. The difference between the profiles is in the valence electron region, and it supports the model of the hydrogen atom giving its electron to the vanadium Fermi sea.
