An analysis is given of the elastic interaction between small defects and/or defect clusters in hexagonal crystals. Simple explicit expressions for the interaction energy are obtained directly from the Green's function given by Kröner. Some typical calculated results are presented for various combinations of axially symmetric defects, e.g., a pair of point defects, a pair of dislocation loops, and a point defect and a dislocation loop. Applications to a study of Frenkel defects recombination processes in irradiated hexagonal crystals are discussed.
