A dynamical X‐ray diffraction theory for crystals with acoustic lattice vibrations is presented. The fundamental equations derived for the general case are specified to monochromatic vibrations of wavelengths shorter than the pendellösung distance taking into account higher harmonics. It is shown that each satellite reflection, caused by these vibrations, can be treated as a usual dynamical two‐beam case using a modified dielectric susceptibility χ which depends on the amplitudes and phases of the vibrations.
