A bond percolation analysis similar to that recently proposed by Pollak is presented. In contrast to Pollak's work part of the bond correlation is taken into account. This leads to an estimate for the onset of percolation in three‐dimensional random networks. Comparison is made with Monte Carlo and series expansion data for bond percolation on crystalline lattices.
