The change in time of the state of intramolecular excitation in an one‐dimensional molecular chain is investigated, where its deformability is taken into account. It is shown that the excitation which is accompanied by a local deformation of the chain, can move uniformly along the chain, the size of the region under excitation remaining constant. These excitations in one‐dimensional molecular chains can be called particle‐like excitons or solitary excitons .
