An investigation is made of paramagnons and mognons in NiO and CoO. In particular, the possible paramagnon symmetries for NiO and CoO are derived and the magnon dispersion relations calculated along all the important symmetry directions of the antiferro‐magnetic Brillouin zone of NiO and CoO. The latter are found to agree well with the group theoretical predictions reviewed in paper I.
