A model of the mechanism of (nonadiabatic) small polaron transport is considered for intermediate temperatures when the coherence of the Bloch band states is significantly destroyed but thermally activated hops still do not dominate. The mechanism of small polaron tunneling is studied at high temperatures when the scattering is fairly strong (quantum diffusive motion).
