The transverse magnetoresistance anisotropy along the bisectrix axes of Bi and Bi (98)Sb(2) single crystals at 4.2 and 89 K is compared with the theory for magnetic fields applied in two symmetry directions. It is found that the changes in shape of the magnetoresistivity anisotropy curves are consistent with expressions derived from Aubrey's magnetoconductivity tensor for bismuth.
