The ESR spectrum of iron doped V 2 O 5 single crystals shows two different line groups. Analysis of the angular dependence and intensity measurements prove that, contrary to Cr 3+ ions, Fe 3+ ions occupy lattice sites and tetrahedral sites as well. This is in agreement with published Mossbauer results. Moreover, the influence of the Fe 3+ concentration upon the signal intensity of the vanadium 3d 1 electron was investigated.
