The role of the interatomic correlation on the paramagnetic instability against the ferromagnetic state in an orbitally nondegenerate narrow band is discussed in the frame of an extended Hubbard Hamiltonian. It is concluded that the intra‐atomic Hund's‐rule coupling in orbitally degenerate bands seems to be more important to stabilize a ferromagnetic state than the interatomic correlations in an orbitally nondegenerate band.
