The variation of the spin splitting of Landau levels as a function of the angle between magnetic field and crystallographic axes of n‐ and p‐type lead selenide was investigated by observing magnetoacoustic quantum oscillations at 1.5 K. The main result is that within experimental error the spin mass shows the same anisotropy as the cyclotron mass. The ratio K of longitudinal to transverse mass presented in this paper is 1.70 for n‐ and 1.87 for p‐PbSe in good agreement with values reported by other authors.
