The hyperfine field at Ta nuclei diffused into a nickel foil was studied by the PAC method both with and without and external polarizing magnetic field. The value H hf = (−82.6 ± 1.1) KG is smaller than the reported one of 90 kG, which could be explained by the large field distribution observed. For assumed Lorentzian shape of the field distribution FWHM (δ) = 22%.
