Magnetization mechanisms related to wall displacement and wall bulging are analyzed using a model previously proposed. In the case of the hysteresis loop, where both these combined mechanisms act, it is shown that the coercive force, the remanence and the shape of the loop, can be determined from the values of the internal field and the grain size. This analysis is experimentally confirmed by the fact that the loops corresponding to several YIG samples can be reduced to a single one . In addition, it is shown that, contrary to a general belief, the coercive force is practically independent of the porosity of the samples.
