The March‐Murray formalism is used in the first approximation to study two effects which are neglected by the static RPA approximation. These are the exchange Hartree‐Fock correction and the effect of the small mass of the positive particle in the case of a positron and their influence on the screened potential of the positive particle is investigated. The results are of interest for the theory of positron annihilation in metals.
