Crystallographic phase transitions have been observed in DyVO 4 , and DyAsO 4 , at 13.8 and 11.2 °K, respectively by low temperature X‐ray diffraction on powders. These phase transformations coincide with observed anomalies in the temperature dependence of the specific heat. They occur prior to magnetic phase transitions at 3.0 and 2.44 °K, respectively, which were determined by neutron diffraction.
