The general expression of the conductivity σ( F) = f μ(E, T, F) f 0 ,(E, T, F) g(E) d E is discussed, in which μ(E, T, F) is a generalized mobility which may depend on energy, field, and temperature. It is shown that constant activation energies result for sharply limited energy or mobility gaps and that a continuously temperature dependent activation energy may appear for a tailed‐type product μ(E) g(E) . Expressions of the type σ ∼ exp (— B T −1/n ) may be obtaincd even if the temperature dependence of the mobility is negligible.
