Abstract This paper deals with the observability of the cyclotron resonance spectrum changes in Ge and Si in crossed magnetic and weak electric fields. It is shown that the displacement of the fundamental line in the electric field is of the same order of magnitude as the estimates made in [9] and the observability of the second harmonics is within the limits of experimental possibilities.
